Our next meeting is 2.13.25 at the Whitefish Library 6 PM


At the last meeting, Frank proposed a theme for this meeting -  Christmas lights.


So Dee brought this image of lights refracted in the corrugated glazing of a small greenhouse.
Dee showed another classic seasonal image - from the Big Ug, also  known as Big Mountain, for its famous fog.  Reeder's Alley in Helena has charming little historic buildings.







It was so good to see Madelynne and John again!  Madelynne got terrific images of the northern lights dancing over the mountains and a historic barn, and an atmospheric image of a handsome buck.






Tony caught the serene spirit of Christmas in Whitefish in the wee hours.  For sure, there is Christmas magic in the sparkles - check out the cropped close up!  Tony also showed photographs rendered into paintings, but I think these swans are poetry.

Our next meeting will be April 11, 2024, the 2nd Thursday of each month, at the Whitefish Library at 6 PM.   We had a nice meeting last month.  You can see some of the images below. Marguerite showed some images from the Ski Joring practice.  I showed a few images over Glacier and some from Oldtime images from Somers Dee showed some images from some of the winter activities that she likes to do.  Ice skating, walking and skiing in the snow! Gary brought in some photos from Antelope Canyon and Arizona at Rex and Ginna's place.

Meeting minutes and next meeting 6.13.2024 6PM at Whitefish Community Library

The May meeting was on the first sunny day after a rainy spell, we had 2 new people, and everybody was bubbly.  We had Gary, Frank, Nelson, Sidney, Mitch who was new last time, and 2 new people Omar and Louie.  Next meeting is 6.13.2024 6PM at Whitefish Community Library Dee documented the end of winter and eruption of spring close to home. Frank traveled a little farther to photograph the sculpture at the entrance to the Blackfeet Reservation and a historic inn in Ferndale -- no, not that Ferndale, but the one in California. Mitch also went to California to experience this ethereal sinuous road and a bird highlighting the bloom in Indian Wells. Sidney compared his color images with B&W renditions, including a great blue heron and Mammoth Hot Springs in winter.  Campus protests are in the news again, as they were when Sidney photographed this one about Vietnam.
